Kadhe And Cash Contend At National Indoors

FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – Oklahoma State doubles duo Arjun Kadhe/Julian Cash began competiton at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in Flushing Meadows, New York, on Thursday.
In their first round match, the Cowboy duo faced a tough battle against No. 16-ranked doubles team Henry Craig/Alex Gasson of Denver. The first set featured a back-and-forth contest between the two teams, but the Cowboys would rise up to the challenge by taking the first set tiebreaker, 7-1.
After a tough first set win, the All-American duo dominated in the second by taking the final five games of the set to win their first round match, 7-6(1), 6-2.
This marks the first time since 2009 that an Oklahoma State singles or doubles player has made it past the first round at the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. The last Cowboy to advance to the second round was three-time All-American Oleksandr Nedovyesov.
Following a three-hour break, Kadhe/Cash made their way back to the court, as they were ready to face No. 4 seed Diego Hidalgo/Gordon Watson of Florida for a spot in the quarterfinals.
After exchanging the first few games, Hidalgo/Watson would break away from the Cowboys and take the first set, 6-3. The second set wouldn't be much different, as the Gators defeated Kadhe/Cash in straight-sets, 6-3, 6-2.
