November 11, 2015 | Cowgirl Tennis
STILLWATER—Oklahoma State's women's tennis will close out its fall schedule this weekend in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Tournament and Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic.
Three Cowgirls will take part in the USTA/ITA National Indoors in New York. Maria Alvarez and Kelsey Laurente will open doubles play on Thursday against Jessica Aney and Katie Vialle of North Carolina.
The Cowgirl duo earned an automatic bid after winning the regional championship inside the Greenwood Tennis Center last month.
"I am very excited for these three girls to represent our program this weekend," coach Chris Young said. "They have worked hard this fall and now they get an opportunity to compete with the best players in the country in a great venue."
Katarina Adamovic will open singles play against Danielle Collins of Virginia in the first round after capturing the regional championship in Stillwater.
This marks the third year in a row that the Cowgirls have participated in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Tournament.
Cowgirls Carla Tur Mari and Vladica Babic will make the trip to Florida to compete in the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic, which will begin on Friday.
