Cowboy Duo Finishes Second At Larry Easley Memorial Classic

LAS VEGAS – Oklahoma State tandem Jurence Mendoza/Nathan Roper came up short in the doubles final on Sunday at the Larry Easley Memorial Classic in Las Vegas, hosted by UNLV.
The Cowboys faced Oregon's Bartosz Swaicki/Cormac Clissold in the finals this morning, after a semifinals win over UNLV's Ruben Alberts/Jakob Amilon yesterday.
Mendoza/Roper got locked in a battle with the Duck duo, as they went back-and-forth for most of the match. In the end, Swaicki/Clissold would pull away from the Cowboy duo and take the doubles title with an 8-6 victory.
All is not lost for the Cowboys, as Mendoza and Roper represented Oklahoma State well at the tournament by collecting three singles wins and two doubles victories. Mendoza reached the semifinals in his respective flight and Roper made a quarterfinals appearance in his flight.
Also, with another finals appearance at the Larry Easley Memorial Classic a Cowboy duo has reached the finals in doubles play at three-consecutive tournaments.
The Cowboys will be back in action in two weeks, when they head to Lakewood Ranch, Florida, for the Dickie V Lakewood Ranch Classic on Nov. 12-15.
