Cowboys Ace Competition On Day One Of ITA All-American Championships

TULSA – Cowboys Jurence Mendoza, Tristan Meraut and Nathan Roper won their respective pre-qualifying matches today at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mendoza started the winning trend for Oklahoma State, as he defeated Daniel Bustamante of Troy in straight-sets, 6-4, 6-3, respectively.
Roper, a junior, needed an extra game to take care of Winthrop's Tremayne Mitchell, as he also won in straight-sets, 7-5, 6-3.
Oklahoma State's Meraut clinched the sweep on day one in the pre-qualifying bracket for the Cowboys by defeating Josef Dodridge of Wisconsin, 6-2, 6-4.
In the Round of 128 tomorrow, Mendoza will face Charles Boyce of Loyola Marymount at 9 a.m., Roper will battle Miami's Max Andrews at 11 a.m. and Meraut will face-off with Ben Stride of Drake at 9:30 a.m.
