Cowboys In The Pros: Cobbins Signs With OKC

STILLWATER – Several Oklahoma State basketball players have continued their success from inside Gallagher-Iba Arena to courts across the world. Whether they're in the NBA, or overseas in Poland, 14 former Cowboys are enjoying success in professional basketball.
Here's what a few have done recently in the NBA and D-League regular seasons and various overseas leagues. Check back with okstate.com throughout the season every Thursday for more weekly updates on your favorite former Oklahoma State Cowboys.
• Michael Cobbins
Oklahoma State had another player added to the list of former Cowboys in professional basketball. It was announced last week that Michael Cobbins, a former two-time All-Big 12 defensive team honoree, signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder and was later sent to the Oklahoma City Blue. Cobbins is expected to be the defense anchor the Blue will need in the post to be successful this season. Cobbins and the Blue open the season in Oklahoma City on November 14 when they take on the Austin Spurs.
• Marcus Smart
Smart picked up right where he left off from an impressive rookie season Wednesday night in Boston. Smart had 13 points, five assists and two steals on the other end of the court in 32 minutes of play to help lead the Boston Celtics to a 112-95 win against the Philadelphia 76eers. Smart and the Celtics return to action on October 30 when they take on the Toronto Raptors.
• Tony Allen
Allen was his usual defensive self on opening night for the Memphis Grizzlies. Allen had two steals and a block and added six points and seven rebounds in 23 minutes of play in a loss 106-76 loss to Cleveland. Allen and the Grizzlies return to action on October 29 when they take on the Indiana Pacers.
• Markell Brown
Brown came off the bench to add six points and two assists in nine minutes of play for the Brooklyn Nets in a 115-100 loss to the Chicago Bulls. Brown and the Nets return to action on October 30 when they take on the San Antonio Spurs.
• Le'Bryan Nash
Nash continued his success this past week in two games for the Fukushima Firebonds in the Japanese League. Through eight games, Nash is averaging 33 points, nine rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes of play. Nash leads the team in points and rebounds, and is second in assists. Nash and the Firebonds return to action on November 7 when they take on Aomori Watts.
• Marshall Moses
Moses continues to shine in Turkey for Eskisehir Basketball. Through four games, Moses has averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes of play. Moses leads the team in rebounds, and is second in points per game. Moses and Eskisehir return to action on October 30 when they take on Istanbul DSI.
