Geberkidane, Loevnes Lead OSU Into Regular Season Finale

STILLWATER – The No. 6 Oklahoma State Cowboys and No. 28 Cowgirls cross country teams head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for their third meet of the season, Friday.
OSU, coming off its sixth-straight Cowboy Jamboree sweep, will be the lone Big 12 school among 30 other teams at the Crimson Classic, including host Alabama,Texas A&M, and four more squads from the SEC.
At the Jamboree on Sept. 26, sophomore Cerake Geberkidane led the Cowboys to a team win by taking the individual title. Ingeborg Loevnes finished third in the 6K and was the highest finisher for the Cowgirls.
Both Geberkidane and Loevnes will run for OSU at the upcoming meet in Alabama, as well as newcomer Josh Thompson on the men's side and freshman Katie Spencer on the women's side.
The Cowgirls and Cowboys will send 10 runners each to the Crimson Classic, which will be the final race of the regular season before Stillwater hosts the 2015 Big 12 Cross Country Championships on Oct. 31 at the OSU Cross Country Course.
The Crimson Classic is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., on Oct. 16., with the university women's race. The university men's race will promptly follow at 5:30. Results and a full recap will be posted on okstate.com following the races. Updated stats will be available at the rolltide.com.
