Oklahoma State Post-Game Notes
Final Score: Kansas State 63, Oklahoma State 53
► Oklahoma State entered the game by limiting opponents to 37.7 percent shooting from the field. K-State converted on 24-of-42 attempts from the field (.571 pct.) to become only the second opponent to shoot better than 50 percent from the field against the Cowboys (Oklahoma shot .558 pct. from the field on Jan. 17).
► Kansas State held a 31-21 advantage at halftime. Oklahoma State was limited to 7-of-20 shooting in the first half (.350 pct.) and committed six turnovers in the first half. The Cowboys went through one drought that spanned four minutes and 16 seconds and a second drought that lasted three minutes and 18 seconds.
► K-State's Nino Williams scored 12 points on six-of-six shooting from the field and added five rebounds in the first half to lead the Wildcats in the opening stanza. Le'Bryan Nash, who entered the game as the Big 12's scoring leader, was held without a point until he sunk a pair of free throws with 1:45 left in the first half.
► Oklahoma State went on a 7-0 run early in the second half to trim its deficit to 37-30 with 15:32 left. From that point, the Wildcats kept the Cowboys at arm's length for most of the way, with the margin between the two teams never extending past 14 points, but never closer than seven points.
► Phil Forte led the Cowboys in scoring for the ninth time this season and the first time since scoring 20 against Texas on Jan. 10. Entering Saturday's game, he had a streak of 16 consecutive free throws made. He added 10-for-10 from the line against the Wildcats to extend that streak to 26.
► Backup point guard Tyree Griffin saw extensive action, matching a season high with 19 minutes played.
► For the first time this year, Oklahoma State lost when shooting more free throws than the opponent (OSU had 22 to K-State's 16). The Cowboys are now 8-1 this year and 103-19 under Travis Ford when attempting more free throws than the opponent.
