Former Cowboy Basketball Player Doyle Johnson Passes at 89

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Former Oklahoma State basketball player Doyle Johnson passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15, at the age of 89 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Johnson played forward at Oklahoma State during the 1944-45 season and was a member of the 1945 NCAA National Championship team coached by Henry Iba.
Johnson was born on Nov. 23, 1925, in Sapulpa, Okla. He attended high school in Seminole, Okla., where he excelled in many sports and was recently voted into the Seminole Football Hall of Fame.
After his time in Stillwater, Johnson returned to Seminole where he owned and operated Oklahoma Pump and Oil Well Supply for over 30 years.
Johnson is survived by his wife, Betty, and brother, Roy, as well as his three daughters, two sons, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
