Coming off a district MVP campaign during a junior season at Perryton High School in Texas, Sydney Walton saw her senior season derailed due to injury. The Cowgirl freshman is now regaining the form that saw her average 22.2 points per game that season. Walton was also a standout long jumper for Perryton, qualifying for the state meet. Below is a quick introduction to the multi-sport star who has traded in her Rangerette red for Cowgirl orange.

How tough was sitting out last year due to injury?
It was the hardest thing I have had to do. There was a big appreciation gained for the game. It was a split second thing where you don't know and anything can be taken from you. I think I really learned to appreciate the game more.
Did you learn anything about the game during your time away?
I learned a lot about decision making and about what to do in certain situations.
