LAFAYETTE, La. - Oklahoma State tennis sophomores Arjun Kadhe and Lucas Gerch each advanced to the singles quarterfinals of the Cajun Classic on Thursday.
Kadhe advanced with a pair of hard-fought three-set victories, defeating Guillermo Nunez of TCU, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, and Jon Ho of Wake Forest, 6-7 (9), 6-4, 7-5.
Gerch notched two straight-set wins to start the tournament. He defeated TCU's Trevor Johnson, 6-4, 6-3, before knocking off No. 50 Ben Wagland of Georgia, 7-5, 6-2.
Kadhe is slated to face Tam Trink of LSU on Friday in the tournament's quarterfinals. Due to play being suspend because of Thursday's inclement weather, Gerch's opponent has not yet been determined.
Sophomore Nathan Roper picked up a decisive 6-3, 6-4 win in the first round over host team's Rok Sitar, but fell in the Round of 16 to Wayne Montgomery of Georgia.
Nicolai Ferrigno, a senior for the Pokes, suffered a loss in the first round and withdrew from the consolation bracket, ending his singles play for the tourney.
