Coming off the third Super Regional appearance in program history, Oklahoma State baseball returns to the diamond for the start of fall practice this week as the Cowboys begin preparations towards the 2015 season on Friday, Sept. 19.
All practices are open to the public and will be at the following times: Mondays 2-4 p.m.; Tuesdays 2-6 p.m. (scrimmage at 4); Thursdays 1-5 p.m.; Fridays 2-6 p.m. (scrimmage at 4); Saturdays 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (scrimmage at 1); and Sundays Noon-4 p.m. (scrimmage at 2).
The Cowboys will attempt to scrimmage on the following dates: Sept. 19-21, 23, 26, 30; Oct. 3-5, 7, 10-12, 14, 17-19, 21, 24-26, 28, 31; and Nov. 1-2. All scrimmages are subject to change due to weather and academic appointments.
The Cowboys return 21 letterwinners from last year's Big 12 Conference championship team, which includes four position starters and five pitchers who made at least seven starts.
Among the returners are four All-Big 12 performers -- infielders Donovan Walton and Tim Arakawa, catcher/outfielder Gage Green and pitcher Jon Perrin -- as well as a pair of pitchers in Blake Battenfield and Tyler Buffett who were named to the 2013 Big 12 All-Freshman Team.
Joining the club are 15 newcomers, which includes 10 from the high school ranks and five junior college transfers.
In the video below, OSU head coach Josh Holliday discusses a variety of topics as the Cowboys prepare for fall practice, including the direction of the program entering his third season at the helm.
