Cowboy Tennis Duo Wins in Day One of Napa Invitational

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State tennis sophomores Nathan Roper and Lucas Gerch notched their first win of the weekend in doubles play at the Napa Invitational in Napa, Calif.
The two posted a decisive 8-3 win over Vasco Valverde and Johan Samuelsson of the University of San Francisco in their only doubles match of the day.
Gerch also competed in singles, taking on USF's Bernardo Saraiva. The Cowboy put up a fight but fell in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
Roper and Gerch are set to face off against Fresno State's team of Alexandros Vakouftsis and Jakob Keppleman tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. CT.
The Cowboys will also compete in singles with Gerch going head-to-head with Ace Matias of UNLV and Roper taking on Keppleman.
