August 19, 2014 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER, Okla. - Former Oklahoma State point guard Tiffany Bias' rookie campaign in the WNBA has already been a historic one with her Phoenix Mercury squad setting the single-season league record for wins.
With its victory over Seattle on Sunday, Phoenix finished up the regular season with a 29-5 mark and secured the No. 1 overall seed throughout the playoffs.
Bias, who earned All-America honors the past two seasons for the Cowgirls, played in 17 games during her rookie campaign. The Andover, Kan., native averaged 1.1 points, 0.4 assists and 0.3 steals per game. Bias logged season highs on August 13 at Atlanta, playing 18 minutes and connecting on three of her six shots from the floor en route to a seven-point outing.
With the regular season now complete, Bias and her teammates will turn their attention toward capturing the third WNBA title in franchise history.
The Mercury will face Los Angeles in the Western Conference Semifinals. The best-of-three series is scheduled to get underway on Friday in Phoenix.
