Cowgirls Tie For Eighth In Regional Action

STiLLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team came up just short of securing a berth at the NCAA Championship on Saturday, falling on the first playoff hole to Florida at Karsten Creek in NCAA Central Regional action.
The Cowgirls and Gators tied for eighth place at 902, 38-over par, to force the playoff for the regional's final qualifying spot. The two teams returned to the 10th hole where Florida counted three pars and a bogey to advance. OSU started the day tied for eighth before posting its 306 score.
UCLA cruised to a 17-shot lead, posting a closing 287 to finish at 11-over 875 at the par-72, 6,200-yard layout. Alabama, Mississippi State, California, Ohio State, Kansas and Arizona rounded out the list of teams to advance.
Kent State's Wad Phaewchimplee finished at 7-under 209 to claim medalist honors and was joined by UNLV's Dana Finkelstein, who tied for second at 2-under 214, as the regional's individual qualifiers.
OSU freshman Isabella Deilertclosed with a 73 to finish at 2-over 218 and tied for seventh place.
Senior Jayde Panos' 78 tied her for 15th place at 221.
Fellow senior Lauren Falley tied for 51st place at 231 after carding a 77, while senior Amy Ruengmateekhuntied for 96th place at 240 after finishing with an 85.
Sophomore Julie Yangclosed with a 78 to stand at 241 and in sole possession of 99th place.
