Cowboys, Cowgirls Earn Final Regular-Season Rankings

The Oklahoma State men's and women's tennis teams each held down spots in the top 30 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's National Team Rankings released on Tuesday.
The Cowgirls (13-7, 7-2 Big 12) dropped four spots to No. 25, while the Cowboys (20-6, 1-4 Big 12) moved up to No. 28 despite falling to Oklahoma in their regular-season finale. Both squads finish the regular season in the top 30 for the first time since 2003.
In the singles polls, Jakob Sude stayed put at No. 70, while Sebastian Sachs (No. 88) made his 2014 rankings debut after upsetting sixth-ranked Axel Alvarez Llamas in Sunday's Bedlam battle. Viktoriya Lushkova also increased her individual ranking, moving up eight spots from No. 52 to No. 44. Lushkova finishes the 2014 regular season with a 16-3 overall record and a 6-2 mark in conference action.
Both the Cowboys' and Cowgirls' ranked doubles squads maintained spots in Tuesday's National Doubles Rankings, as well. Kanyapat Narattana and Viktoriya Lushkova checked in at No. 65, while Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude jumped to No. 16 in the men's polls, their highest position of 2014.
This weekend's Big 12 Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, will kick off postseason play for both teams. The No. 2 Cowgirls open play at 3 p.m. on Friday against the winner of Thursday's Kansas State/West Virginia matchup, while the No. 5 Cowboys open quarterfinal action at 9 a.m. on Friday against No. 4 Texas Tech.
