OSU Golfers Receive Academic Honors

IRVING, Texas - Oklahoma State's golf programs combined to place eight student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 Golf Team it was announced today by the league office.
On the men's side, the Cowboys had five players on the squad with seniors Ian Davis, Kevin Dougherty and Sam Lee joining sophomore Jordan Niebrugge on the first team. Senior Talor Gooch was a second-team selection.
The selection was the third for Davis and Gooch, while Lee and Niebrugge were honored for the first time.
The Cowgirls were represented on the first team by senior Lauren Falley and sophomore Julie Yang. Senior Jayde Panos appeared on the second team.
Panos was honored for the third time in her career, while Falley and Yang were first-time honorees.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
