Cowboys Garner Big 12 Awards

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State sophomore Marcus Smart was named to the All-Big 12 First Team for the second-consecutive season, it was announced today by the conference office. He is just the second two-time All-Big 12 First Team selection from OSU, joining John Lucas (2004 and '05). Smart is the 13th two-time first-team all-conference player in school history.
Cowboy senior Markel Brown was named an All-Big 12 Second Team honoree for the second-straight year, while Le'Bryan Nash made his third All-Big 12 team as an honorable mention selection this season.
Oklahoma State sophomore Phil Forte was named the co-Sixth Man Award winner, sharing the honors with Oklahoma's Tyler Neal. It marks the first time a Cowboy has received the award as the top player off the bench. Smart was also a unanimous selection to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team for the second-consecutive year.
Oklahoma State (20-11) will take on Texas Tech (14-17) on Wednesday, March 12, in the first round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship. Tipoff is set for 6 pm inside the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
