Future Cowboy Named MVP at Tournament

New Haven, Conn. -- Oklahoma State basketball signee Jared Terrell was named the Most Valuable Player of the National Prep Championship after leading Brewster Academy to the team title with an 88-77 win over St. Thomas More (Conn.) here Wednesday night at Albertus Magnus College.
Terrell was named tournament MVP despite scoring just seven points in the title game. He scored a combined 39 points in the quarterfinals (20 points) and semifinals (19), and utilized his trademark power to attack the rim, mixing in jumpers when he had to, while also providing energy and playmaking on the defensive end of the floor, according to Adam Finkelstein from ESPN.com.
Terrell, a 6-3 guard, also paced Brewster to a 68-63 victory over New Hampton (N.H.) in the finals of the NEPSAC (New England Preparatory School Athletic Council) Class AAA title game with 14 points, four rebounds and a steal.
"Jared's just a competitor," Brewster head coach Jason Smith told ESPNBoston.com. "He's tough, he's hard-nosed, he competes and wants to win every time, no matter if it's in practice. He just wants to win. He's a competitive guy."
