Cowboy Tennis Continues Climb Through Rankings, Reschedules Friday Match

The Oklahoma State men's tennis team rose in the ITA National Team Rankings for the sixth-consecutive week, moving up three spots to No. 15 in Tuesday's polls.
OSU's spot in the Top 15 is the team's highest since holding the same position in the Feb. 26, 2008 rankings. The squad's 11-1 dual match record has it near its highest ranking in school history, held by the 1985 Cowboy Tennis squad that finished the year at No. 9.
Oklahoma State returns home from a six-match road trip to host 21st-ranked Wake Forest on Friday. Originally scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. first serve, the ranked matchup will now begin at 2:30 p.m., and will be played outdoors at the Colvin Center courts due to ITA regulations.
ITA rules require teams to play outdoors if the weather forecast projects a high of least 50 degrees, qualifying Friday's high of 63 for outdoor play. The match still has the option of being played indoors if the weather conditions are forecasted not to improve up to one hour before the start of the match.
Saturday's doubleheader against New Orleans and Oral Roberts will still be played indoors at the Greenwood Tennis Center, where the Cowboys will host Campus Kids' Day during their 11 a.m. match. Pizza and prizes will be given out to fans, and a short clinic will be held by the team after the doubles point.
