On the excitement level of the team:
"There was a little bit of anxiety going there, but we were very excited to make the tournament. We're playing a good (Florida) Gulf Coast team. Everybody at this level is good, so we're fired up and ready to play. We had a good turnout here and I know our fans are excited as well."
On if the team has had an opportunity to rest its legs since the Big 12 tournament:
"We gave two days off prior to the Big 12 tournament and we gave two days off as soon as we got done with the Big 12 tournament, just trying to get rejuvenated and get some fresh legs. We've worked on some different things and now it's time to lock in and focus on (Florida) Gulf Coast."
On what he expected as far as seeding:
"I thought we would get a five seed. Out of our eight losses, five are to the conference champions, West Virginia and Baylor. Others are to teams that made the tournament. Texas, who was a five seed and Oklahoma on their home floor. We thought that we built a good resume, and we didn't really have a bad loss on our resume."
On how playing in the Big 12 prepares you for the NCAA tournament:
"I think that this league prepares you. You see a little bit of everything. You see pressure man, TCU's got a great zone, you see sagging man at Iowa State. In this league, there's not too much you haven't seen when you've gone through it."

On the excitement of being selected for the NCAA Tournament:
"I think it's like a sigh of relief. Now we know we're going and we can focus on preparing for our first game. Seeing all the other teams get announced before us kind of made some anxiety build inside, but we're fine now and ready to go."
On having more than a week of rest before the first NCAA Tournament game:
"This week has been good for us to get things in order, and fix everything we needed to during the week. Our shots are looking good, and I think we're ready to play this first game."
On being done with Big 12 play and getting to play new teams:
"I think the Big 12 is a grind throughout the year. Each game is a challenge and you aren't sure who is going to win. It's one of those things where you all beat each other up the whole season and dread playing each other again, but it's fun to play against great girls like that. We're looking forward to playing someone new, who isn't familiar with our offense and defense. It will be exciting."
On how Big 12 play has prepared them for the NCAA Tournament:
"It has definitely helped us prepare. I have 100 percent faith in my team and we're looking really good right now. Anything is possible when we play our 'A' game."

On how it feels to earn a five seed in the NCAA tournament:
"I'm excited that we're on the list. I'm excited to go see new things and go somewhere new. I'm definitely excited, and I would be excited to play anybody."
On if the team was anxious before eventually being picked in the final region:
"I know, I was nervous. I was like, 'Come on, you have to call our name!' I'm just excited and grateful that we're on the list."
On if the team feels mentally prepared for the tournament:
"I do. I feel ready to go and ready to play. We have a lot of work to do, and I'm excited to get started on the new jobs we have. I'm ready to play."
On if the team feels refreshed after having a week off:
"It's been a while. We only had a couple of days off, but practices have been lighter . I'm excited to get back to focusing on specific things and getting back on the regular schedule."
