Hickey Earns Big 12 Weekly Honor

IRVING, Texas -- Oklahoma State's Anthony Hickey, Jr. has been named the Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Week, it was announced today by the league office.
The senior point guard led OSU to its first road win of the season last Saturday as the Cowboys took down Memphis, 73-55. Against the Tigers, Hickey recorded 19 points, his career high in an OSU uniform, on 7-of-14 shooting, including sinking three of his six attempts from beyond the three-point arc.
Additionally, Hickey, who transferred to OSU this season after spending his first three years at LSU, registered six assists and five rebounds while recording a season-high five steals in 32 minutes of action.
On the season, Hickey is averaging 9.1 points and a team-high 3.7 assists per game for the 8-1 Cowboys.
Hickey is the first OSU player to garner a weekly award from the conference this season. He and the Cowboys return to action Tuesday when they host Middle Tennessee State at Gallagher-Iba Arena at 8 p.m.
