LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – Oklahoma State tennis player Nicolai Ferrigno defeated Eduardo Alfonzo of Florida Gulf Coast en route to winning the consolation singles bracket at the Dickie V Clay Court Classic on Sunday.
The Cowboy senior resumed Saturday's semifinal match with Alfonzo, which was postponed due to rain. Entering the day leading, 6-1, 3-2, Ferrigno finished off the second set to seal the win, 6-1, 6-4, and send him to the finals.
Ferrigno earned the finals win by default when players from the other semifinal withdrew. The tournament wrapped up fall action for the Cowboys.
