Cowgirls Appear In Preseason Rankings

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team checked in at No. 21 in The Associated Press' preseason poll, which was announced today.
The Cowgirls garnered 158 points to come in behind Oregon State and in front of Dayton. Connecticut was the unanimous pick as the top team in the country, receiving all 35 first-place votes.
Coming off a 25-9 mark and NCAA Sweet 16 appearance a year ago, the Cowgirls finished last season ranked No. 21 in the AP poll and No. 15 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
Lindy's Sports Annuals has the Cowgirls ranked No. 13 to start the season, while Sporting News has OSU at No. 17 in its preseason poll.
College Sports Madness ranked the Cowgirls at No. 36, tabbed junior Brittney Martin as a first-team all-league pick and senior Liz Donohoe as a second-team selection.
The Cowgirls will begin play on Nov. 4 when they host Southwestern Oklahoma State in the first of two exhibitions. OSU will open the regular season on Nov. 14 when it hosts Loyola Marymount at 11 a.m. in Stillwater.
