Bias Named To Lieberman Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Oklahoma State's Tiffany Biashas been named to the watch list of candidates for the 2014 Nancy Lieberman Award it was announced today by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The award recognizes the top point guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. Candidates exhibit the floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills of Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame became the new host of the Nancy Lieberman Award in October 2013 after the Rotary Club of Detroit managed it for several years.
Bias currently ranks eighth in the Big 12 in scoring at 14.1 points per outing and is the league leader with her 7.1 assists per game. Her assist average ranks seventh nationally. Additionally, the Andover, Kan., native ranks second among Big 12 players in steals (2.3 spg) and is fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio.
The Cowgirl senior has led OSU to a 14-1 mark and a No. 11 national ranking as well.
Bias is aiming to become the second Cowgirl to win the award after Andrea Riley was named its recipient in 2010.
The Hall of Fame appointed a premier Selection Committee made up of top college basketball personnel including media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers to review the candidates. The list will be narrowed down to a final 20 in February, then final five by March. The Lieberman Award winner will be announced during Final Four weekend activities.
