Cowgirl Golf Leads In Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team opened its fall season on Monday with a 278 to stand atop the leaderboard at the Dale McNamara Fall Preview at Tulsa Country Club.
The Cowgirls' 2-under team score was the only total under par on the day at the par-70, 6,168-yard layout and put them four shots clear of the field. Oklahoma finished the day in second at 282, while Arizona and Duke shared third place at 283.
OSU's Julie Yang grabbed the individual lead after opening with a 3-under 67. The sophomore posted birdies at the fourth and sixth holes before carding her lone bogey of the day at the eighth. Yang moved back to 2-under for the day with a birdie at the 15th and added another birdie at the 17th.
A pair of freshmen made their debuts with even-par 70s as Casie Cathrea and Isabella Deilert finished the day tied for 12th.
Senior Jayde Panos carded a 71 to stand in a tie for 21st place, while classmate Lauren Falley's 75 tied her for 52nd place.
The Cowgirls will begin their second round tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. and will be grouped with Arizona and Oklahoma.
