Oklahoma State's men's tennis team concluded its first weekend of fall competition on Sunday at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational and the Napa Valley Collegiate Invitational.
After making his way into the semifinal round of the singles bracket on Saturday, Sebastian Sachs lost a tight match to Texas' Soren Hess-Olesen, ending the newcomer's run through the tournament.
Sachs provided a hard-fought performance by taking Hess-Olesen into the third set, but was unable to finish off the tenth-ranked player in the nation.
At the Napa Valley Collegiate Invitational in Napa, Calif., the Cowboys wrapped up their stay with four victories spread across singles and doubles play.
Vasili Caripi defeated San Francisco's Nils Skajaa 6-4, 4-6, 10-7, while senior Trevor Horstmann issued a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Thomas Takemoto. The Cowboys moved their doubles record in the competition to 5-1 with victories over Fresno State at both the No. 1 and No. 2 spot.
The team will travel to Tulsa, Okla., in two weeks to compete in the ITA All-American Championships before appearing in the F26 Futures in Houston, Texas, on Oct. 4.
