Cowboy Tennis Falls In Big 12 Opener

Oklahoma State's men's tennis team opened its 2013 Big 12 schedule with a 7-0 defeat at the hands of the 33rd-ranked TCU Horned Frogs on Friday at the DeBois Tennis Complex.
After defeating No. 67 Idaho on Tuesday, the Cowboys came up short on a second-consecutive upset bid. Chris Haworth and Brady Bohrnstedt opened up with an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles, but the Cowboys fell in close tiebreakers at Nos. 1 and 3, allowing TCU to gain the match's first point.
OSU was unable to break through the individual play of TCU's strong singles squad, as the Horned Frogs pulled out victories on all six courts. The loss puts the Cowboys at 0-1 in Big 12 play and 11-9 on the season.
The Cowboys will continue Big 12 play on Sunday when they take on No. 16 Texas in Stillwater at the DeBois Tennis Complex. The Longhorns will travel to Stillwater after taking on Oklahoma on Friday.
