Cowgirls to Host Jayhawks

STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State softball team returns home after six-straight games on the road for a three-game series against Big 12 opponent Kansas, April 19-21. Friday's game is set for 5:30 p.m. and first pitch for Saturday and Sunday is slated for noon.
This is the 113th meeting between the Cowgirls and the Jayhawks dating back to 1978, with OSU leading the all-time series 67-45. Oklahoma State has won eight of the last 11 meetings with Kansas. The Jayhawks took last year's series two games to one in Lawrence.
Offensively for the Cowgirls, junior Tarah Ettinger continues to lead the team with 43 hits, seven home runs and 31 runs batted in. Senior Tamara Brown is hitting .328 with a team-high 27 runs, 10 doubles and 12 RBIs. Freshman Tiffany Mikkelson leads the team with 12 doubles.
In the circle for OSU, senior Kat Espinosa is 13-13 with a 2.24 earned run average. She has started 29 games and struck out 172 batters in 178 innings of work. Junior Simone Freeman sports a 2.22 ERA, with 146 strikeouts in 113.1 innings.
Admission to Saturday's game is free. The games will also be broadcast over the radiowaves on KGFY 105.5 FM in Stillwater.
