Cowboys In Fifth At Morris Williams

AUSTIN, Texas - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a two-round total of 568 on Saturday at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate to finish the day alone in fifth place at the University of Texas Golf Club.
The Cowboys' even-par total, which consisted of rounds of 285 and 283, put them two shots behind Texas Tech for fourth place at the par-71, 7,412-yard layout. Three teams shared the lead after the first day of action with TCU, New Mexico and Texas all standing at 6-under 562.
TCU's Julien Brun posted scores of 65 and 69 for a 134 total, putting him three shots clear of OSU's Jordan Niebrugge.
Niebrugge opened with a 70 before firing a 4-under 67 during the afternoon round to climb the leaderboard. The Cowboy freshman logged 12 birdies over his 36 holes on the day, including eight during his second round.
Junior Ian Davis logged a pair of 71s to finish the day tied for 13th place at 142, while classmate Talor Goochcame in tied for 26th place at 144 after tallying rounds of 69 and 75.
Junior Kevin Doughertyposted scores of 75 and 74 for a 149 total, tying him for 49th place.
Sophomore Patrick Wintherrallied after an opening 79 with a 71 to stand at 150 and tied for 54th place.
Senior Sean Einhausis also competing at the event individually and came in tied for 58th place at 152 after signing for a 73 and a 79.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow morning at 8:18 a.m. (CST) and will be grouped with Liberty and Texas Tech.
