Cowgirls Fall to No. 20/16 Baylor

WACO, Texas - The Oklahoma State softball team dropped the opening game of a three-game series against Big 12 foe No. 20/16 Baylor 2-0 Friday night in Waco, Texas.
The game was a battle of pitchers until Baylor (31-10, 4-5 Big 12) struck in the bottom of the fifth inning when Kaitlyn Thumann and Holly Holl scored on a base hit by Sarah Smith to take a 2-0 lead.
Offensively for the Cowgirls (24-15, 2-5) junior Ari Morrison picked up the only hit for the Cowgirls when she singled to right field in the top of the sixth inning.
Senior Kat Espinosa (13-11) picked up the loss for the Cowgirls, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out six in six innings of work.
The Cowgirls return to the diamond against the Bears tomorrow in Waco, Texas at 2 p.m.
