STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State softball team travels to Waco, Texas, this weekend for a three-game Big 12 series against No. 20/16 Baylor this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Getterman Stadium. Friday's game will begin at 6:30 p.m., with Saturday's contest starting at 2 p.m. and Sunday's first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
The Cowgirls (24-17, 2-4 Big 12) are 29-20 all-time against the Bears (30-10, 3-5) dating back to 1980. OSU is looking to avenge last season's series loss against Baylor in Stillwater. The Bears defeated the Cowgirls 4-2 and 1-0 in the first two games of the series and OSU took the third game of the series, 2-0.
Offensively, junior Tarah Ettinger continues to lead the team in batting average (.355), hits (43), home runs (7), slugging percentage (.579) and runs batted in (31). Senior Tamara Brown is hitting .330 with 38 hits, 10 doubles and 27 runs scored. Since her return from injury, junior Ari Morrisonis batting .455 with 15 hits, two doubles and a home run.
In the circle, junior Simone Freeman is 11-7 and has a 2.18 earned run average with 145 strikeouts. Senior Kat Espinosa(13-10) has 160 strikeouts in 33 appearances and a 2.26 ERA.
After the weekend series in Waco, the Cowgirls travel to Oklahoma City to take on top-ranked and Bedlam-rival Oklahoma at Don E. Porter/ASA Hall of Fame Stadium on April 17 at 7 p.m.
