Cowgirls Clash With Jayhawks in Stillwater

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team is set to take on the Kansas Jayhawks on Wednesday afternoon in Stillwater. The match will be played at the DeBois Tennis Complex at 1 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Cowgirls (9-3, 1-1 Big 12) are coming off of a successful week in San Diego, Calif., that brought big wins over No. 12 Nebraska and No. 47 Illinois. The tandem of Malika Rose and Kanyapat Narattana shined in both matches with victories over the nation's seventh and 17th-ranked doubles teams. Malika Rose also notched a big win in singles play when she defeated No. 10 Mary Weatherholt of Nebraska.

Matchup History
The Cowgirls hold a 24-17 record in prior meetings with the Jayhawks. When the teams met last season in Lawrence, Kan., Oklahoma State controlled the match to notch a 6-1 victory over Kansas.
Cowgirls in the Rankings
Following their loss to Texas, The Cowgirls dropped to No. 35 in the latest team rankings, released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association last Tuesday.
Cowgirl senior Malika Rose represents Oklahoma State in the ITA singles rankings, coming in at No. 83.
Eyeing the Opponent
The Jayhawks will enter Wednesday's match with an 8-3 overall record and an 0-1 record in Big 12 play, their lone conference loss coming at the hands of the 26th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners earlier this month. Kansas is coming off of a 7-0 sweep of Nebraska-Omaha in Hilton Head, S.C., last Friday. The Jayhawks are currently unranked and have no ranked players or doubles teams, according to the ITA rankings.
Climbing the Record Books
With her win over Nebraska's Mary Weatherholt last Thursday, Malika Rose tied Sasha Belova in eighth place on the program's all-time singles victories list at 60 wins. Kate Vasylyeva sits at seventh place on the list with 63 career wins.
Battle Tested
The Cowgirls finished a tough ten-match non-conference schedule with an impressive 8-2 record. Of the ten matches that Oklahoma State competed in, nine were against teams ranked in the ITA team rankings. Things don't get much easier for the Cowgirls in conference play, however. Of the ten teams in the Big 12, seven are ranked.
