Cowgirls to Take on Central Arkansas

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State softball team (13-12) will host Central Arkansas (19-6) this Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Cowgirl Stadium.
The Cowgirls are 1-0 all-time against the Bears, defeating them 1-0 in 2007 in Stillwater.
The Cowgirls are coming off a 6-0 weekend record, a Mizuno Classic Championship and an offensive explosion where OSU scored 45 runs. The Cowgirls defeated Santa Clara three times, Cleveland State twice and Northern Iowa once en route to this year's championship.
Junior Tarah Ettinger and freshman Tiffany Mikkelson put up big numbers this weekend to help power the offense. Ettinger hit .538 in five games, racking up six hits, including a double and two home runs, and seven RBIs. Mikkelson batted .533 in six games, hitting five doubles and a home run while accumulating six RBIs.
Pitchers Kat Espinosa and Simone Freeman also had solid weekends. Espinosa was 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA and Freeman was 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA. Both recorded 22 strikeouts.
After Wednesday's game, the Cowgirls will travel to Clearwater, Fla., to participate in the USF Spring Invitational March 15-17.
