Four of the 14 sub-four minute times registered on the NCAA list belong to these Cowboys, and all four times are also in the top 10 marks ran this season.
Leading Lady
Natalja Piliusina is the nation's No. 3 runner in the women's 800 meters with a mark of 2:04.35.

Record Breaking
Piliusina broke the 27-year-old school record in the 1,000 meters in a dual against No. 7 Arkansas on Jan. 11.

From Head Coach Dave Smith
On the importance of gaining momentum moving toward the Big 12 Meet:
“Obviously, we want to keep moving forward. The Razorback Invitational was kind of a rust buster for everybody and a chance to see where we are, and it went exceptionally well. Now we've had some more time to work and train, and we want to run faster than we did at the Razorback. A lot of people are running different events than they did in Arkansas, most moving up an event. For example, from the mile to the 3K and the 3K to the 5K.”
On how the performance at the Razorback Invite impacted the team:
“First of all, it's contagious. For example, at Arkansas we took a group of guys in the morning sections do pretty well in the mile, and then later their teammates broke four minutes. When they see that, it raises expectations for everyone. It's contagious. Everyone performs better and better based off what they see their teammates doing.”
On what goes through his mind when his team is in two different places:
“Sometimes it's kind of fun, because while you're waiting for the group you're with to compete, especially if you're in a different time zone, someone else is already competing or has just finished competing. It keeps the excitement going all day instead of having times when you're sitting around, doing nothing. You're getting results and messages from other coaches. It's fun. I like it.”
