Game Information
After an eight-day break for the holidays, Oklahoma State returns to action on Monday, Dec. 30, as the Cowboys host the Robert Morris Colonials at 6 pm inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. Tickets are available for as little as $10 through the OSU ticket office. The game will be televised by ESPNU. This will be the second-ever meeting between OSU and the Colonials on the hardwood as the two matched up on Dec. 29, 1984, in the Pittsburgh tournament with the Cowboys winning, 75-67.
About Oklahoma State
Seventh-ranked Oklahoma State is 11-1 this season following a 78-73 victory over No. 20 Colorado on Dec. 21 in Las Vegas, OSU's second win over a ranked opponent this season. The Cowboys are averaging more than 86 points per game this season with four players averaging double figures. Marcus Smart leads the scoring attack with 18 ppg, among the leaders in the Big 12 Conference. Markel Brown is averaging 16.3 ppg, while Le'Bryan Nash (13.9 ppg) and Phil Forte (11.6 ppg) are all averaging double figures.
OSU is shooting 49.7% from the floor, including 37.7% from beyond the arc. The Cowboys have a scoring margin of 22.9 points per game. They also have a +5.4 turnover margin. OSU's defense has allowed more than 70 points just three four this season, giving up 63.5 ppg, 37.9% FG defense and 30.8% 3-point FG defense.
About Robert Morris
Robert Morris is 5-8 this season and 2-7 on the road, with wins at Lafayette and Duquesne. The Colonials are led by senior guard Karvel Anderson who is averaging 17.5 ppg while shooting 49.1% from the floor, including 45.4% from long range. Junior forward Lucky Jones is the only other Colonial averaging double figures at 15.2 ppg and is leading the squad with 5.5 rebounds per contest.
As a team, Robert Morris is averaging 74.6 ppg, more than four points fewer than its opponents. The Colonials are shooting 44.2 percent from the floor and 40.8 percent from beyond the arc. Robert Morris is coached by Andrew Toole, who is 73-44 in his fourth season as head coach of the Colonials.
Last Meeting with the Colonials
In the first and only meeting with Robert Morris, the Cowboys defeated the Colonials 75-67 in the consolation game of the Pittsburgh Tournament on Dec. 29, 1984. Joe Atkinson scored a game-high 23 points while Bill Self added 12 and Win Case chipped in 10 points to go along with six assists and four steals. OSU shot 53.4 percent from the floor and outrebounded Robert Morris 39-33, although the Cowboys did commit 19 turnovers. The Pokes led by just one at the half (37-36), but made 16-of-24 shots (66.7%) from the floor in the second period. OSU could have won by more, but was just 13-of-24 (54.2%) from the charity stripe.
Against the Northeast Conference
Oklahoma State is 6-2 all-time against current members of the Northeast Conference, including a 1-0 mark vs Robert Morris. The Cowboys are 2-0 vs NEC teams in Gallagher-Iba Arena, the last meeting vs Central Connecticut State on Jan. 3, 1989. Five of the six games vs LIU-Brooklyn were played at Madison Square Garden.

Up Next for OSU
Oklahoma State will open up the conference portion of the 2013-14 schedule on Saturday, Jan. 4, when the Cowboys travel to Manhattan, Kan., to take on the Kansas State Wildcats. Tipoff is set for 3 pm. Please note, this is different than the originally scheduled time of 11 am. The game will be televised by ESPNU.
OSU will then open the home portion of its league schedule on Wednesday, Jan. 8, as the Cowboys host Texas in an 8 pm tipoff on ESPNU.
