Game Information
Oklahoma State travels to Las Vegas, Nev., to face the Colorado Buffaloes in the second game of a doubleheader in the MGM Grand Showcase, played at the MGM Grand Garden Arena (capacity: 16,800). Tipoff for OSU-CU is set for approximately 10:30 pm CT (8:30 pm PT). The first game pits New Mexico against Marquette at 6 pm PT. Oklahoma State's game will be televised on ESPN2.
About Oklahoma State
Seventh-ranked Oklahoma State is 10-1 this season following a 75-43 victory over Delaware State Tuesday night in Stillwater. The Cowboys are averaging more than 87 points per game this season with four players averaging double figures. Marcus Smart leads the scoring attack with 18 ppg, among the leaders in the Big 12 Conference. Markel Brown is averaging 15.7 ppg, while Le'Bryan Nash (13.8 ppg) and Phil Forte (11.2 ppg) are all averaging double figures.
OSU is shooting 49.5% from the floor, including 38% from beyond the arc. The Cowboys have a scoring margin of 24.5 points per game. They also have a +3.1 rebounding margin and a +5.9 turnover margin. OSU's defense has allowed more than 70 points just three times this season, giving up 62.6 ppg and 37.7% FG defense.
About Colorado
Colorado is 10-1 this season and ranked No. 20 nationally by the Associated Press. The Buffaloes defeated Kansas (75-72) at home on Dec. 3 after falling to Baylor (72-60) in the season opener in Dallas. CU is led by junior guard Spencer Dinwiddie who is averaging 15.5 points and four assists per game. Three other Buffs are averaging double figures: Josh Scott (12.4 ppg and team-high 8.6 rpg), Askia Booker (11.5 ppg) and Xavier Johnson (10 ppg).
As a team, Colorado is averaging 77.3 ppg and shooting 45.6% from the floor, although just 32% from long range. The Buffs are averaging 40.4 rebounds per game and outrebounding their opponents by an average of 10.3 boards per contest. CU is coached by Tad Boyle, who is 79-39 in his fourth season in Boulder.
Series History with Colorado
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series with Colorado 60-48, a series that ran consecutive seasons from 1959 until 2011, when the Buffaloes joined the Pac-12 Conference. The Cowboys led the series 37-10 in Stillwater, while CU led in Boulder 32-17. The series on neutral courts is deadlocked at 6-6. OSU is 6-3 in overtime contests with Colorado.
Oklahoma State is 5-2 against Colorado as a top-10 team. This will mark the first-ever meeting between these two teams when they are both ranked in the top 25.
The Cowboys have won 18 of the last 25 games in the series.
Last Time vs the Buffaloes
In the last meeting between these two teams on the hardwood, Colorado defeated Oklahoma State 75-71 on Jan. 15, 2011, in Boulder. It was the final Big 12 Conference game between the squads. OSU senior Markel Brown is the only remaining player on either team that played in the game. He finished with five points, three blocks, two assists and two steals in 21 minutes in a losing cause.
Against the Pac-12 Conference
Oklahoma State is 92-78 all-time against current members of the Pac-12 Conference, including a 60-48 mark against Colorado and a 4-1 record against Utah, both of which joined the league two seasons ago. OSU has lost the last meeting with every Pac-12 school excluding Arizona State and Utah.

Oklahoma State will take off nine days for the holidays before hosting Robert Morris on Monday, Dec. 30, at 6 pm in a game televised by ESPNU. It will be the final non-conference game of the regular season before the Cowboys open Big 12 Conference action on Saturday, Jan. 4, at Kansas State.
