Oklahoma State opens play in the Old Spice Classic on Thursday, Nov. 28, against the Purdue Boilermakers. Tipoff is set for 12 pm ET (11 am CT) and the game will be televised on ESPN2. Fifth-ranked Oklahoma State is 5-0 this season following a 93-67 win over South Florida on Monday night in Tampa. The Cowboys are averaging just over 100 points per game this season with five players averaging double figures. Marcus Smart leads the scoring attack with 21 ppg and also leads the Pokes with 21 steals. Markel Brown is second on the squad at 18.2 ppg and also leads OSU with 22 assists and nine blocked shots. Le'Bryan Nash leads all rebounders, averaging seven boards per contest.
As a team, OSU is shooting 51.8% from the floor and is 55-of-117 from long range, good for 47 percent. The Cowboys have been dominant through five games, outscoring their opponents by an average of nearly 38 points per game. They also have a +8.0 rebounding margin and a +7.4 turnover margin.
About Purdue
Purdue is 5-0 this season and is averaging 86.2 ppg. The Boilermakers are led by sophomore guard Ronnie Johnson who is averaging 13.8 points per game with a team-high 22 assists. Senior guard Terone Johnson is chipping in 13 points per contest, while Bryson Scott is averaging 10.6 points per game off the bench for Purdue. Eight different Boilermakers are averaging at least three rebounds per game, led by Errick Peck's 6.4 rpg.
Last Time vs Purdue
Oklahoma State defeated Purdue 67-48 on Nov. 23, 1991, the first and only meeting between these two schools on the hardwood. Byron Houston and Darwyn Alexander each had 19 points for the Cowboys, negating a 24-point performance by Woody Austin. Current Boilermaker coach Matt Painter started in that game, but was 0-of-5 from the floor, including 0-of-4 from beyond the arc and scored his only point at the free-throw line. The Cowboys shot 55 percent, compared to just 45 for Purdue, and OSU forced 19 turnovers. The Pokes were 21-of-27 from the charity stripe, compared to just 4-of-6 by Purdue.

Oklahoma State will play either Butler or Washington State on the second day of the Old Spice Classic. Tipoff will be at either 11 am (10 am CT) or 1:30 pm (12:30 pm CT) local. The final round will be played Sunday, Dec. 1.
OSU will return home and host South Carolina in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Friday, Dec. 6, at 8:30 pm inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. That game will be televised on ESPNU.
