STILLWATER, Okla. -
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has signed three players to National Letters of Intent it was announced today by head coach Jim Littell.
Mandy Coleman, Kaylee Jensen and Sydney Walton all signed with the Cowgirls and will join the program next fall.
A native of Stockton, Calif., Coleman averaged 17.2 points, 12 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.8 steals per contest as a junior at McNair High School. The 6-3 forward earned first-team all-area honors. As a sophomore, she averaged 15.9 points per game and was named an all-area selection.
“Mandy is big and strong and has an athletic body, which will fit the physicality of the Big 12,” Littell said. “She will play forward for us, but has a unique skill set that enables her to play like a guard. This past summer, she played the point guard for her team.”
A 6-4 post player from Genoa, Neb., Jensen averaged 24.5 points and 10.5 rebounds as a junior for Holy Family. She earned all-state honors after leading the Bulldogs to a 25-3 mark and the state semifinals as well. Jensen averaged 21 points per game her sophomore season en route to all-state honors.
“Kaylee is an outstanding young lady who excels on the court and in the classroom,” Littell said. “She is another strong, physical player who has outstanding feet and hands for a post player.”
Walton, a Perryton, Texas product, was named an all-state selection as well as district MVP this past season. As a junior, she averaged 22.2 points per contest while helping the Lady Rangers to the District 1-3A title. The 5-8 guard was also named the district newcomer of the year following her freshman season after averaging 13.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
“Sydney is an outstanding athlete with a very high ceiling. She is a player that will continue to grow as she progresses through the program,” Littell said. “She has a tremendous intermediate game and can create her own shot.”
