Guttormsen and Tur Mari Qualify at ITA Regionals

Oklahoma State women's tennis players Karyn Guttormsen and Carla Tur Mari both qualified for the main draw of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Regional Championships on Thursday afternoon, both winning their first two matches of the tournament in straight sets.
Senior Cowgirl Karyn Guttormsen started the tournament on a high note, defeating Mairead Cleary of Oral Roberts in her first match of the day, 6-1, 6-0. Guttormsen would later knock off Arkansas State's Janie Nowland, 6-4, 6-3, to clinch her spot in the main draw.
Freshman Carla Tur Mari downed Kali Donner of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, 6-1, 6-2 in her opening match. Tur Mari followed up the first round victory with a 6-1, 6-2 rout of Oklahoma's Ann Pepper.
The Cowgirls be back in action Friday as Guttormsen and Tur Mari, as well as a host of other Cowgirl teammates, will continue competition in Norman.
