STILLWATER -
Three throwers from the Oklahoma State men's and women's track and field teams will travel to Lincoln, Neb., this Friday and Saturday to compete in the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, hosted by the University of Nebraska.
For the Cowboys, sophomore Nick Miller will compete in the weight throw Friday evening. Miller is currently ranked No. 3 nationally and No. 1 in the Big 12 in the event, and is coming off an outstanding showing at the Razorback Invitational. Miller won the event and set a new personal best with a throw of 20.81m/68-03.25.
For the Cowgirls, senior Caitlin Way will compete in the women's weight throw. At the Razorback Invitational, she launched the weight 17.33m/56-10.25, which landed her in ninth place. Finally, freshman Chase Ealey will compete in the shot put. Ealey is coming off an eighth-place finish at the Razorback Invitational with her distance of 15.42m/50-07.25
OSU throwing coach John Baumann said the invitational is another chance for the throwers to see where they stack up nationally.
“This weekend is another great opportunity for Nick, Chase and Caitlin to compete,” Baumann said. “The field in the men's and women's weight throw is awesome. Some of the best throwers in the country are coming to Lincoln. In the women's shot put, several outstanding putters are in the field, so Chase will once again have some great competition.”
