Cowgirls Look To Defend Title At Fall Opener

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team will get its fall season underway on Monday when it begins play at the Dale McNamara Invitational at Golf Club of Oklahoma.
Last fall, the Cowgirls notched a memorable victory at the event in their first-ever competition under head coach Alan Bratton. OSU trailed by 21 shots heading into the final round at The Patriot Golf Club before firing the second-lowest 18-hole score in school history for a five-shot win.
The 15-team field will begin play tomorrow at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. Monday's action will consist of 36 holes before the tournament concludes on Tuesday with 18 holes.
OSU's starting five for the season opener will be led by senior Kelsey Vines, who was named the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2012.
Joining Vines in the lineup will be junior Jayde Panos, who tied the school record with a 64 during the final round at the event last year, Senior Hillary Wood and a pair of juniors in Amy Ruengmateekhun and Josephine Janson will also be in action at the par-72, 6,282-yard layout.
