Cowboys Take Down BC Gran Canaria, 80-58

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria – Markel Brown scored a team-high 17 points and fellow captain Brian Williams scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Oklahoma State men's basketball team defeated BC Gran Canaria 80-59 here Tuesday evening in exhibition action.
Brown connected on 7-of-12 shots from the floor, including 3-of-4 from beyond the three-point arc. The Cowboys took an early 21-8 lead and never looked back against Gran Canaria.
Jean-Paul Olukemi added 10 points for the Pokes and started the second half with OSU leading 38-30. Le'Bryan Nash and Marcus Smart each scored eight points for the Cowboys.
Oklahoma State shot 47.7 percent from the floor, including 7-of-20 from beyond the three-point arc. The Cowboys committed just 12 turnovers in the contest, while forcing Gran Canaria into 16 miscues and gathering 10 steals.
OSU's defense also held the locals to just 32.7 percent shooting from the floor, including just 6-of-25 (24 percent) from beyond the arc.
Berni Hernandez was Gran Canaria's leading scorer with 16 points. Giorvis Elias finished with 8 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Oklahoma State, now 3-0 on its foreign tour, will play the final game of the trip on Thursday evening at 7 pm locally (1 pm CT) against the CBA Alumni.
