2012 Puerto Rico Tip-Off bracket in PDF format
Stillwater, Okla. -- ESPN released the bracket for the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Thursday morning, and Oklahoma State will open the tournament as the Cowboys face Akron live on ESPNU at 9:30 am CT on Thursday, Nov. 15. It will be the first-ever meeting on the hardwood between OSU and the Zips.
Other first-round games of the tournament include Tennessee vs. UNC-Asheville, North Carolina State vs. Penn State and Providence vs. Massachusetts. Oklahoma State is in the top half of the bracket along with the Volunteers and UNC-Asheville. The Cowboys are 2-1 all-time against Tennessee, and have never played Bulldogs of UNCA. OSU is 2-1 all-time against Providence, and 1-0 against UMass, NC State and Penn State.
Each team will compete in one game per day (Thursday, Friday and Sunday), advancing through a bracket-tournament format. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout will face off in a championship game on ESPN2. All 12 games will be aired live on either ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3, and will also be available through WatchESPN, accessible on-line at WatchESPN.com and through smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
