NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma State track and field program wrapped up competition Saturday at the John Jacobs Invitational, hosted by the University of Oklahoma.
Freshman Nick Miller continued to impress in his first season on campus after notching his second-consecutive first-place finish in the hammer throw. Miller took first with a 66.88-meter effort, besting his previous personal record of 65.09 meters that he set at the Texas Relays on March 29. His new mark currently stands at No. 9 nationally.
OSU combined for nine other top five finishes at the meet, including a second-place finish from Caitlin Way in the weight throw. Her 56.33-meter effort in the weight throw ranks No. 4 in the OSU record book. Brooke Gritter's heave of 13.83 meters in the shot put was good for fourth in the event and ranks her sixth all-time at OSU.
Andrew Hudson's 53.52-meter effort in the discus throw stands as the seventh-best effort all-time at OSU.
OSU will return to the track next week with a busy slate of action, starting with the Kansas Relays on April 18-21, the Mt. Sac Relays on April 19-21 and the John McDonnell Invitational on April 20-12.
