Cowgirls Earn All-League Honors

IRVING, Texas - Oklahoma State's Liz Donohoe and Tiffany Biaswere both honored by the Big 12 Conference on Monday with the announcement of the league's postseason awards. The honors are voted on by the league's head coaches who are not allowed to vote for their own players.
Donohoe was named the league's freshman of the year, an honorable mention All-Big 12 pick and a member of the all-freshman team. Bias was named a second-team all-league selection.
A five-time Big 12 Freshman of the Week pick, Donohoe led the league's freshmen in scoring (12.4 ppg) and rebounding (7.1 rpg). The Edmond, Okla., native finished the regular season ranked second among all Big 12 players in free-throw percentage (87.5 percent), 15th in scoring and eighth in rebounding. She tallied three double-doubles on the year as well.
Donohoe was recently named one of five candidates for the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's National Freshman of the Year award. She is the second Cowgirl to be named the Big 12's top freshman. Andrea Rileywon the award in 2007.
Bias earned all-league honors after finishing second in the Big 12 with her 6.6 assists per game. The Andover, Kan., native also finished among the league's top 20 scorers, ranking 16th with her 12.3 points per game. Bias' 2.6 steals per game rank third among Big 12 players and she also stands 10th in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio. The sophomore's assist average ranks seventh nationally.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Wednesday when they face Missouri at 7:30 p.m. in the first round of the Big 12 Championship in Kansas City.
