OSU Softball Drops Conference Opener

LAWRENCE, Kan.— The Oklahoma State softball team was shut out by the Kansas Jayhawks 1-0 in eight innings in the Cowgirls conference opener on Friday evening. Chanin Naudin hit a walk-off homerun for Kansas in the bottom of the eighth.
Junior Kat Espinosa (8-5) threw the complete game for the Cowgirls (15-11, 0-1). Before the eighth inning, she only gave up three hits, struck out four and walked just one.
Oklahoma State's offense was silenced by KU's pitcher Alicia Pille (10-3). She only allowed two hits, struck out 11 and walked one. Tamara Brown did manage to hit a two-out double in the seventh, but was stranded as Chelsea Garcia struck out to end the inning.
This was the sixth extra-inning game the Cowgirls have played in this season. They are 4-2 in those games.
The Cowgirls will play Kansas again tomorrow at 2 pm.
