STILLWATER, Okla. - For the sixth-straight season, Oklahoma State's women's basketball team will appear in postseason play after receiving a bid to participate in the Women's National Invitation Tournament Monday evening.
The Cowgirls will begin WNIT action with a 16-12 record and will face Central Arkansas (24-6) on Friday in Stillwater. Tip time will be set on Tuesday. The winner will move on to play either Oral Roberts or Wichita State.
OSU's berth extended its school-record run of consecutive postseason appearances to six years in a row. During their current string, the Cowgirls have played in the NCAA Tournament in 2007, 2008 and 2010 as well as the WNIT in 2009 and 2011.
The Cowgirls are 5-4 all time in the WNIT after posting a 1-1 mark last year. Last year, OSU won its opening-round game against Pepperdine before falling at Wyoming.
