FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Oklahoma State track and field program finished up competition at the two-day Tyson Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas.
Jackie Campos brought home OSU's only first place finish at the meet, as the junior ran a 9:58.13 in the women's 3,000-meter race.
The Cowgirls notched two other top-five finishes on Saturday. Sophomore Natalja Piliusina placed second in the Olympic development 800-meter race by running a 2:05.56, surpassing her previous personal best and school record of 2:05.86. Sophomore Caileigh Glenn placed fifth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.23.
The Cowboys had five athletes place in the top five, led by junior Raul Botezan's third-place finish in the mile run. His time of 3:58.94 is a new personal best and the second-fastest one-mile time in OSU history.
In the 3,000-meter championship race, Kirubel Erassa ran a 7:59.35 to place fifth. His time is the seventh-best in the OSU record book.
In the 3,000-meter run, Zach Wills placed fourth with a time of 8:14.21, while David Osborn came in fifth, running an 8:15.38. Neal Smith placed fifth in the one-mile run, clocking a 4:05.86.
Also on the weekend, Shadrack Kipchirchir placed eighth in the 5,000-meter invitational run at the Husky Classic in Seattle with a time of 13:46.00, which is the second-fastest time at OSU.
The track team will return to action Feb. 18 when it travels to Norman to compete at the Oklahoma Invitational.
