Young Named Big 12 Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas - Oklahoma State's Toni Young was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as chosen by a media panel. Young earned her second career honor with the selection.
A native of Del City, Okla., Young was named tournament most valuable player after leading Oklahoma State to the Surf 'N Slam Classic title in San Diego. She recorded double-doubles in both games to move into third place on the school's all-time list with 26.
Young hit seven of her 15 shots from the floor to finish with 16 points and 12 rebounds against Harvard. She also had two assists, four blocked shots and a steal. In the championship game against San Diego State, Young hit 14 of her 19 shots en route to a 30-point, 15-rebound performance.
The senior forward also had two blocks and a steal. For the week she averaged 23 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting .618 (21-of-34) from the field.
OSU improved to 11-0 for the first time in program history with the wins.
