Cowgirls Start Season In Top 25

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team will begin the 2012-13 season with a Top 25 ranking courtesy of both the Associated Press and the USA Today Sports/ESPN preseason polls.
Released over the weekend, the AP Poll has the Cowgirls ranked 23rd. OSU tallied 139 points in the voting, one behind Georgia Tech and 29 points ahead of Miami (Fl.).
The coaches' poll was released on Tuesday and the Cowgirls checked in at No. 24. OSU's 94 points were one point behind Miami (Fl.) and five ahead of Green Bay.
The Cowgirls were last ranked heading into the season prior to the 2008-09 campaign when they were ranked 14th by the AP and No. 15 by the coaches.
The defending WNIT champions are coming off a 22-12 mark a year ago and will begin the upcoming season on Nov. 7 with an exhibition contest against Central Oklahoma in Stillwater.
